Diner Cuisine: Cook Book
BOOK DESIGN // Personal Project
PROJECT PREMISE
Develop a cook book which presented 16 recipes united by a central theme. TOOLS USED The illustrations were created in Adobe Illustrator. The page layouts were made in Adobe InDesign. Photographs were edited in Adobe Photoshop. SUMMARY The cook book titled, "Diner Cuisine," is a collection of traditional recipes from diners found throughout the Northeastern United States. The theme of the cook reflects a 1950's retro feel of classic Americana. The book's pages were designed to resemble a diner menu from the mid-twentieth century and uses checker patterns, saturated colors, icons, and family-friendly cartoons to convey that design. The 16 recipes are divided into the meal times of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desserts with each meal time containing 4 recipes each. The meal times represent different chapters which are used to break up the information dispersed throughout the book. The color schemes of the patterns also change depending on the chapter. |
