MR. HANDY

UX DESIGN // MOBILE APP

PROJECT PREMISE
How could I provide the end user a solution to their boredom and if I could, what would that look like?

TOOLS USED
The prototype of the mobile app was designed in Adobe XD, but all illustrations were created using Adobe Illustrator.

MR. HANDY
Mr. Handy is the mascot for the app as well as the personification of the app's concept. Mr. Handy is a helper, a friend, and a gloved hand with a mustache! Users will encounter more than one variation of Mr. Handy throughout their experience!
SUMMARY
Before I knew what Mr. Handy would be, I conducted extensive research into which activities people enjoy in their free time around the Baltimore area (for the purposes of the prototype,) and learned a great deal about the cost, travel time, and ease of access that people favor.

Following the research to back up the designs of the app, I decided to include a mascot, named Mr. Handy, who would act as a helper to the user, and guide them toward the solution to their boredom. The app is pretty straight forward in that the user is asked a series of questions that will vary depending on the user's answer to the previous question. Upon completing the questionnaire, the app offers a solution to the user and the user can either learn more about the solution (venues in the area,) or start the questionnaire over for a different outcome.

There are other features tied into the experience which include messages, past picks (previous selections made by the user,) fast deals (daily deals that are offered to different venues the user has visited before,) settings (update account information for consideration of solutions offered by app,) and log out.
